DEVO:

Are you supposed to protect yourself and your own interests, or does God want to be your security?

The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. (Psalm 18:2 NKJV)

At times like the falling of the terrorist-targeted Twin Towers, tsunamis hitting southeast Asia, hurricanes hitting major cities, news of rapes, carjackings, and a plethora of other human sufferings, many people pause and assume “God's will” HAS played out before their eyes. Experience is never a good indicator of God's will. It is a travesty to even consider that a God Who Loves deeply would either perpetrate or permit such painfulness.

The greatest way to discover God's will is in His Word. The greatest clarity of God's will within God's Word is through the lens of Redemption, or the Atonement. If Christ accomplished something in Redemption, it is no longer dependent on Divine spontaneity or even a "promise"; Redemption makes everything a "FACT" in the mind of God. And Divine protection is a fact in God's Will for us.

According to Deuteronomy 28:15-17,38-40, the curse of human suffering was an equal part of God's broken law: rape, sudden ruin, robbery, victimization, injustices, child abductions, cruel oppression, natural disasters, etc.

God’s people did not encounter the Deuteronomy curses because of His neglect, nor because of His causative will desiring their suffering. Inherent within God's laws are the blessing and cursings. Of course, engaging laws in obedience produces blessing, and disobedience produces human suffering. In Deuteronomy God is simply warning the people He loves that judgments come when spiritual laws are broken. The curse wasn't a personal attack from God, nor was it neglect, but a process that happened when laws—spiritual laws—are disregarded. The law itself brought the judgment or curse, similar to how a violation of gravity isn't a personal vendetta from God; the law itself holds the judgment.

But remember that Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law (Galatians 3:13-14). So it is an established fact that God ALWAYS "wills" to protect us, which is necessitated by His nature of LOVE. Today we engage laws of Redemption through grace and faith. God's will "being done", and our engaging spiritual laws of grace and faith to overcome, are not always in sync. But they are designed to be. That is our responsibility.

Receive God’s provision of protection for you and your family. Declare it and establish God’s will on earth as it is in heaven!!

PRAYER:

Dear Lord God, I surrender my thoughts and beliefs to Your Sovereign reign over my life. You have revealed Your will to be my and my family’s security. I will no longer be my own Protector. In honor to You as the worthy God You are, I give you full dependence as Guardian. Whether I am awake, asleep, at the wheel, or as a passenger, I am always the Apple of Your eye. I rest in You!

PRAYER PLAN:

●     Church Faith Community Protection – That EVERY ATTENDER at my local church faith community would experience the revelation of Redemptive Protection.

●     Church Faith Community Teens/Surge - That TEENS at my local church faith community would have unforgettable encounters with God.

SUGGESTED READING:  EPHESIANS 6 (NIV)

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— 3 “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” 4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 6 Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. 7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, 8 because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free. 9 And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

21 Tychicus, the dear brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will tell you everything, so that you also may know how I am and what I am doing. 22 I am sending him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are, and that he may encourage you.

23 Peace to the brothers and sisters, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.

DECLARATION:

I have made the LORD, [who is] my refuge, [Even] the Most High, my dwelling place, 10 No evil shall befall me or my family, nor shall any plague come near our dwelling; 11 For God has given His angels charge over us, to keep us in all our ways. 12 In [their] hands they shall bear us up, lest we dash our feet against a stone. ... 16 With long life God satisfies us, and shows us His salvation." (Psalm 91:9-12,16 NKJV)
