On Saturday, March 30 at 10:30AM we will be taking groups up to 16 people each to tour several apartment complexes serving the under-resourced in OLATHE. Often the children go without food, diapers and other basic necessities. We are building a 5-person “site team” that will meet with these folks once a month. There is also a great serving opportunity to support the “site team” with less of a commitment. The support teams will cookout, simply show up and be relationally present, serve the needs of the folks and more. We can have an unlimited number of support team members who come less than one time per month. This tour is to become more acquainted with the opportunity. You do not have to commit to a “site team” or “support team” at the end of the tour.

Please register your reservation below so we will know exactly how many seats and groups to take. Thank you!

HOW DO “SITE TEAMS” WORK?

We go into a community in humble dependence on the Lord, extending Help and Hope to our neighbors. We do that through:

  • Prayer: On property, for the community

  • Engagement Opportunities: Free Garage Sale, community dinners, Fun Friday, Homework Huddle, community projects, Holiday events, and more.

  • Meaningful Conversations: Sharing Life with one another

  • Spiritual Conversations:  Why are you here? Why do you care about me?

  • Finding a Person of Peace:  A person who is spiritually interested and relationally connected

  • Launching Discovery Groups:  Discovering God’s word together

  • Disciple Making:  A Scripture-centered focus on making obedient disciples who make disciples

WHY JOIN A “SITE TEAM”?

We realize that authentic faith means we have to do more than simply tell people about Jesus.  We are to be the hands and feet of Jesus—not just seasonally or in a “hit and miss” fashion.

A Site Team provides meaningful serving opportunities for individuals, families and churches.  Befriend your neighbor and have your life transformed beyond anything you could imagine.  Site Teams are about life-long friendships, lasting impact and changed lives.

WHAT IS A “SITE TEAM”?

1. Three or more people focused (adoption mindset) on a specific property. The role of Site Team members is to regularly spend time serving with the people who live there extending help and hope on a personal level

2. A weekly, on property prayer presence

3. Individuals who have attended a training

4. Members who faithfully attend the quarterly Site Team Gathering

5. A manager/owner who is “Positive” toward Mission Southside

6. Follows a Disciple-Making-Disciples model including “Discovery Groups”

7. Regular “engagements”
