Hope For Hurricane Recovery - v3.jpg

$3,675 has been received as of 09.17.2017. THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!!

LifePointe Family:

Due to sequential hurricanes we are expanding our support to both Texas and Florida. We are collecting items for hurricane relief and recovery. Bring yours on Sunday, or at any time. Items we have found out that are needed are:

  • Hygiene Products
  • Underwear
  • Diapers/wipes
  • Clothing
  • Toys/things for kids to do
  • We were told they do not need water or food

While we have a temporary place to store items (thanks Maggie Johns), we still may need a larger spot to store the items. Does anyone have space we could use for this?

We also have organizations/churches in Texas and Florida that we know 100% of the funds will make it to hurricane victims.  If you would like to make any cash donations, please do so through the church (either by check, or online: http://pointe.info/giving) and we will make sure all the funds get to them.

Thank you for your help with this, the need is great and we can all help make a difference.

    LifePointe Family:

We have an exciting event coming up on October 28th that we need some help with.

We are helping with a Fall Festival outreach at Eleos Coffee House, 3401 Independence Ave, KCMO, and need some volunteers and donations.  This will be Saturday 10/28 from 12:30-3:30, we will be serving a hot lunch to all the families that come.

We need about 15 volunteers to help with food, set up/clean up and run booths for the kids (face painting, bobbing for apples, games etc.) We would like some gift cards to give to the people that will be coming, most of these people will not have vehicles so need gift cards for stores close to them.  There is a Price Chopper and Aldi and cash that comes in we can use to purchase other cards from local groceries in the neighborhood.

This will be a family fun event and a way to bless others in the community.  It will be a lot of fun!!

Some of the items we will need are:

    • Someone who can paint faces along with face paints
    • Cakes, Cookies, Cup Cakes
    • Prizes
    • Candy
    • Apples/Tub
    • Nail Polish
    • Gift Cards
    • Photographer
    • Empty 2 liters to use for games

Let me know if you would like to volunteer (your children are welcome to come with you) at the event, or you would like to donate anything towards this.

Appreciate your help! For more information email mylifepointe@gmail.com .

Our Fall calendar will continue our one service worship experiences at 10:00am until 2018. We are building up our volunteer teams to be ready for 2 services in 2018. Our hearts are always focused outwardly and how we make the biggest impact on those we come into contact with. This will continue to be a season of strength for us!

At LifePointe, we focus on relevant teaching, heartfelt worship, honest friendships, constant prayer, and compassionate care for others. Whether you’ve never been to church or are looking for a place to call home, you are welcome here. We invite you to join us every Sunday service. We believe that if you give us a full year of Sundays and Groups at LifePointe, Jesus will change your life forever!

If you want to be part of all God is doing at LifePointe, we invite you to become a member by attending our START TRACK.

The START TRACK is a four step ONLINE MasterClass process. You will be assigned a START TRACK HOST to answer questions and help you along the journey. After STEP FOUR you will have the option to join the church.

The LifePointe START TRACK guides you to discover your redemptive purpose and live the life God created for you. The Start Track is made up of four steps that equip you to:

    • STEP ONE:  Connect to God and the church
    • STEP TWO:  Find freedom in growing relationships
    • STEP THREE:  Discover meaning in Bible training
    • STEP FOUR:  Use your God-given gifts to make a difference in the lives of others

The LifePointe START TRACK is a spiritual journey, as well as LifePointe’s membership process. Everyone desiring to be a member of LifePointe Church is required to graduate all four steps in the process.

    • Veteran LifePointers who have not experienced all four Steps of START TRACK
    • New people who really want to become a Hero-Disciple of Jesus and win the day
    • Visitors who want to see what LifePointe is all about
    • Anyone desiring to be a member of LifePointe
    • Teenagers join the Track too

Water baptism is a public profession of your heart-felt faith in Jesus Christ. We call it "going public," and we offer regular baptisms the first Sundays of each month during our worship experiences. We love hearing about the life changes that happen as people come to know Jesus and declare it to the world!

People often have questions regarding baptism: Why should I be baptized? I've already been baptized. Do I have to do it again? Does it matter if someone is sprinkled or dunked?

We have a short 17-minute special video teaching on the topic of baptism. We desire that everyone wanting to be baptized watch it so you can prepare your heart for the powerful occasion. The video can be watched at https://youtu.be/v2g10hgwjTA .

Water Baptisms are planned every 1st Sundays of the month during/in the second worship service. If someone has registered prior to that Sunday the baptism pool will be prepared and ready for any additional baptism candidates. If we have no one registered prior to the 1st Sunday then the pool will not be prepared until the following month.

Please complete the water baptism registration HERE to get the process started. You will be notified by our administrative team to confirm the dates and provide any additional water baptism details.

Note: We water baptize adults and children 10 years old and older. For children under 10 years, we encourage a child dedication, which is a spiritual commitment to raise up our children before the Lord. We offer these several times a year. For child dedications contact our offices at mylifepointe@gmail.com . Any child, no matter what the age, that is mature enough to understand their decision to receive Jesus, is qualified for water baptism.

For more information on baptisms, please e-mail mylifepointe@gmail.com .

    BEGINS JULY 30!!

    SIGN UP @ pointe.info/groups

    Dear LifePointe Family,

Groups are an amazing place for connecting, eating, laughing and learning together. This week I heard a heartbreaking story of a young gang member that had come to faith in Christ at Francis Chan's church. After his baptism he drifted from church. When Francis asked him later why he had left church he said, "I misunderstood. I thought that once I was baptized that we would be a family and spend time together 24/7. I didn't know that church was us coming together for a weekend event each week." Needless to say, that broke Francis's heart.

Every year we have to evaluate the impact of our investments of time, energy and personal gifts. I do as a Pastor, and you do as an attender/member. I dream of leading a church where people find grace, connection and real friends; a place where people are changed by the revelation of God being all-good, all-the-time. Actually I won't settle for less. A weekend event church is completely uninspiring for me. I stir your heart today, and appeal to your personal need for community. However, even more I want to also appeal to your need to provide community to someone else.

Our Groups are to connect and disciple people. Our Groups are designed to bond people in relationships, over time and with intentionality. In Groups people are connected. In Groups people are discipled. At LifePointe, if we aren't yet in Groups we aren't really participating in the discipleship process Jesus commissioned us into. Your personhood is to be impacted by other people, your peers. Your personhood is also to be poured out, with all the visible and invisible gifts that God has graced you with, for other people to experience God's grace in you.

Jesus said, "Go therefore and MAKE DISCIPLES of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit... (Matthew 28:19 NKJV)." Discipleship has never been about the weekend event. The weekend event is to bring our friends to an inspirational experience, the front door to something much greater. A lot of churches do discipleship in different ways. Ours is significant and profoundly transformational.

We have a brand new Group's semester coming up. The topic will be on Spiritual Authority. This is when Jesus told every believer that he had endowed them with the authority and power to do God's supernatural work in the earth. Spiritual authority is about free moral choices. It is how we respond to Redemption. It is the framework of a life of faith. The end result of learning spiritual authority is amazing. It's victory. It's the adventure of working with God to fulfill His will in the earth.

We are adjusting the Group Semesters and making them 8 weeks long. The Summer semester will now begin on July 30, 2 weeks after the originally posted date. The semester will still end on original posted date of September 23. The Fall semester will also push back 2 weeks from the original post and will now start the week of October 15 and ending December 9.

    • SUMMER GROUPS - Authority of the Believer:  July 30 – September 23
    • FALL GROUPS - The Holy Spirit:  October 15 – December 9

If you are already in a Group I want to encourage you to commit to a full, all-in attitude. If you aren't yet, we invite you to jump in now. You can register, right now, at http://pointe.info/groups .

FIREPITS and COLLECTIVES are the perfect place for you to begin a deeper journey in God. Ken Whiteside will be directing and teaching in each of the first three Sundays of each month. It all begins at 7:00pm in the LifePointe Worship Sanctuary.

Pastor Mark and Kim Spellman, along with their kids, Sam and Daniel, are heading to France to change the world. AMEN CORNER @ 9:30AM

You are a catalyst for life change in someone else’s life! Do you want to know how to maximize that? Would you like to be mentored on how to increase your own church experience? Each week Pastor Patrick (or another staff member) coaches us right here in the LifePointe sanctuary. Each Sunday at 8:45am we are inspired with “faith” to impact the entire Sunday experience. You don’t have to be a spiritual veteran, or a regular attender to LifePointe. The Amen Corner is a discipleship training experience. I hope you can join us this Sunday at 9:30am.

Ladies Connection Group is the place to make a connection with God and with other ladies. Investing time, love and laughter in a community of women is medicine to the heart. Come ready to be inspired and refreshed. This amazing Group is led by Mrs. Tina Norris.

Our Nursery/ Preschool (WeeLife/TotLife) is available for children six weeks through kindergarten, and our KidsLife services are for kids in first through fifth grade. We promise a clean and safe environment where children will experience the love of Jesus. They will be inspired, have fun and meet new friends. We would love to have your child join us!

Are you a teenager? Maybe you are a parent of a teenager. We are passionate about the spiritual development, psychological health and missional ownership of all our teenagers. We empower Gen-Yers to create an innovative culture at LifePointe, just as they dream of expressing it. Our Boomer Generation transfers legacy while our Gen-Yers inspire cutting edge relevance. Our teenagers are stockholders in everything that happens in our church, including Sunday services. We lead them into teenage Small Groups to grow and then throw monthly resurrection parties just for them. To find out more go to mylifepointe.com/surge.

Are you in college or a young adult? There is no age requirement. Pastor Patrick and Tina Norris lead this group of visionaries. How would you like to be mentored, parented, or friended through tough life issues? How would you like to have this to navigate social issues, scriptural challenges and day-to-day problems? Join us each week at Pastor's house at 7:00pm where we eat, watch teaching videos and share together thoughts. We hope to see you this Thursday! To find out more email us at mylifepointe@gmail.com

We see social media as a great place to share stories, worship moments, and message clips as well as celebrate all God is doing in the lives of the people of LifePointe Church. Find us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram anytime. We’d love to hear from you!
